MEETING ROLES

TOASTMASTER OF THE DAY
The Toastmaster is a meeting director and host.
Prepares and sends the agenda, confirms attendance of members on the schedule, and selects the theme and the word of the day.

TABLE TOPICS
The Table Topics Master chooses Topics (Questions) and participants for 1-2 minute impromptu speeches.
Guests & members without roles will be picked first.
The person called upon to discuss the “table topic” can be honest, fabricate or change the subject.

GENERAL EVALUATOR
The General Evaluator conducts the evaluation portion of the meeting.
The GE introduces each of the Speech Evaluators and then calls for the reports from the Timer and the Grammarian/Ah Counter.
The GE then provides a general evaluation of the complete meeting and offers suggestions to improve the club meeting.

TIMER
The Timer times and keeps a record of the prepared speeches, table topics speeches, and evaluations.
For example: for a 4-6 minute speech, the Speaker will get: The green light at 4 minutes
The yellow light at 5 minutes
The red light at 6 minutes.
The speaker should complete their presentation within 30 seconds of seeing the red light.
The Timer watches the flow of the meeting to ensure that the meeting is on time. The Timer lets the Toastmaster, General Evaluator, or Presiding Officer know if the meeting is running over.
During the Evaluation portion of the meeting, the Timer provides a report on all timings.

GRAMMARIAN
The Grammarian/Ah-Counter records speech fillers like ‘ahs,’ ‘sos,’ & ‘ums.’ Additionally, the grammarian counts word of the day usage and records grammatical errors.
During the evaluation, the Grammarian/Ah Counter reports on each member's and guest's fillers, grammar, and usage of the word of the day.

BALLOT COUNTER
The Ballot Counter tallies votes for the best speaker, best speaker evaluator, and best table topics speaker. Once the votes are in, the Ballot counter provides the winner's names to the President.
